About WA7NAS

I migrated here in 1991 from Australia where I received my first license in 1978, call sign VK3NIR and later VK5NAS.

I sometimes operate my original radio, a Yaesu FT-101, which still performs flawlessly, however I recently upgraded to a Yaesu FT-1000MP.

I operate using a multiband dipole with elements for 80, 40, 20 and 10, however it will also tune up on 15 meters.

I am retired and enjoy dabbling in electronics and of course, ham radio, and am a member of the Snohomish County Hams Club, Northwest Country Cousins and Western Country Cousins.

The cute little girl in the photo is one of my wonderful grandchildren.

My Equipment
I purchased this transceiver used in May 2017.  It is a very sophisticated piece of equipment with all the bells and whistles.

This is "Old Faithful".  I have had this transceiver since 1977 and have worked many countries around the world with this rig.  It has a tube power amplifier with the original tubes intact and it operates flawlessly.

Here is the latest addition to the shack.  It is a Heathkit SB-220 linear amplifier.  It is capable of putting out close to the legal limit on 80, 40, 20, 15 and 10 meters.
